JINAN, China, Oct. 30, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Report from iQingdao: The "Smart Media, Youth Voices" Asia-Pacific Young Media Professionals Experience Program kicked off in Jinan on October 26. Organized by Shandong Radio and Television Station and hosted by the Shandong International Communication Center, the event aims to advance the four global initiatives and deepen people-to-people exchanges and media cooperation across the Asia-Pacific region ahead of the upcoming APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting.
This year marks "China Year" for APEC and the third time China has hosted the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation. During the program, more than 50 journalists and digital creators from mainstream media outlets across 15 countries, including South Korea, Vietnam, Malaysia and Russia, will explore Jinan, Zibo and Qingdao under the theme of the event. Through on-site reporting, themed salons and in-depth discussions, they will experience Shandong firsthand, discovering the province through its springs, ceramic heritage and coastal scenery, while gaining a deeper understanding of China through dialogue and exchange.
A themed exhibition was also held alongside the opening ceremony, offering young media professionals from across the Asia-Pacific an immersive look at Shandong's achievements in high-quality development through displays of intelligent manufacturing, quality products from Shandong and interactive experiences with intangible cultural heritage.
