Cluster / Hospital / Department: Hong Kong East Cluster / Tung Wah Eastern Hospital / Maintenance Team (under Administrative Service Department)

Pay: HK$26,908 to HK$32,140 (HGPS Point 9 to 12) per month including Monthly Allowance

Up to 15% of total basic salary (after deducting the contribution of Mandatory Provident Fund by Hospital Authority) as end-of-contract gratuity may be offered to contract staff upon completion of the contract subject to satisfactory performance.

Key Responsibilities

1.   To assist the managers and supervisors in the management of day-to-day building and facilities repair and maintenance works, and any other services provided by the Department.

2.  Supervision of maintenance, repair alteration, addition and improvement works carried out by outside contractors to the Hospital.

3.   Supervision of all technical staffs to carry out planned and corrective maintenance of the E&M plants and equipment, building services installations (Multi-Disciplines) and builder works to the Hospital.

4.  Assisting in preparation of inspection and progress reports on minor capital project / day-to-day building maintenance works and other facility management works.

5.  Liaising with users, contractors, consultants, and other working parties concerned on technical matters relating to the execution of building works on site.

6.   Requisition and control of repair stores.

7.   Responsible for the good working conditions of hospital equipment and plants such as HVAC system, lifts, Plumbing & Drainage, medical gas and vacuums plant, emergency generator, electrical switchboard, mortuary cabinets, CMMS, fire services installations and alarm system and annual government licenses renewal.

8.   As on call officer to handle repair services as designated by supervisor and work outside office hours at hospital in case of emergencies when required.

9.   To perform shift duty and be on duty during typhoon and other emergencies call.

10.  Assist to monitor all environmental, health and safety aspects of maintenance works.

11. Take up other duties as assigned by the managers / supervisors.

Entry Requirements

1.     a)      A Certificate in Building Services Engineering or Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering

        from Hong Kong Polytechnic / Hong Kong Polytechnic University / Hong Kong Technical College /

        Hong Kong Technical Institute / Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education, or equivalent;

        OR

b)      5 years of relevant working experience as skilled worker in the field of Building Services
Engineering or Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering;

        OR

c)     Completed a recognized Technician Apprenticeship in Building Services Engineering or
        Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.

2.           A knowledge of English and Chinese equivalent to Form 3 (before 2012) / Secondary 3 standard.

3.           Obtained valid Construction Industry Safety Training Certificate (Green Card).

Preferred Attributes / Exposure

1.       Have 7 years’ experience in air-conditioning / refrigeration, electrical fields is an advantage.

2.       Higher Diploma / Higher Certificate in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Building Services or equivalent.

3.       Possess Grade B of Certificate of Registration of Electrical Worker issued by EMSD.

4.       Knowledge in Green Management.

5.       Self-motivated, responsible and able to work independently.
